Groups are still welcome to visit the outlet store.

Kencraft has long distinguished itself in the confectionery industry with its unique, handcrafted candies. Shown below are just a few of the employees who take great pride in the candy craftsmanship of all of Kencraft’s beautiful and delicious items.

Kencraft has a self-guided observation area of our plant for families and individuals to view our candy making processes. The observation area is accessed through our outlet store — Peppermint Place. We welcome groups - schools, scouts, churches, civic groups — any group will do. Tours are typically available from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please call ahead to schedule a tour to ensure availability and to notify us of any special needs. The Peppermint Place retail store is open every day but Sunday, and major holidays.

Below is a tour of our candy stick, candy cane and sucker area. You'll see this and much more when you visit. Watch our candy experts make candy from start to finish.

Kencraft makes the most colorful and best tasting candy canes, candy sticks and suckers one will find. We take extra care in applying the colorful, unique striping patterns and adding the best flavorings available. Corn syrup, sugar and water are heated together in large steam kettles to make the candy.

The hot product is then placed on temperature-controlled steel tables, separated into portions, and precisely colored. The largest part of the batch is flavored and then pulled on a giant taffy puller for proper aeration.
An outside cover of candy is wrapped round the flavored center and the colorful stripes are added to form a large cylinder of candy.

The candy is then placed in a machine that stretches and pulls the large mass of candy to a small diameter
The candy begins to come out of the machine and enters through a series of rollers that shape, twist, cut, wrap and seal the individual candy sticks.

While still warm and pliable, the candy is cooled as it rides the conveyor table to the packaging area.
After careful packing, the candy is shipped fresh to one of our wholesale customers, or stored in our temperature-controlled warehouse.
